Leigh Tugwood
I am a long time resident of Iver Heath and a former pupil of the school, later at Evreham. I studied architecture at Manchester University and am a Chartered Architect running my practice from home. I lived and worked in the North West of England for several years before returning to Iver Heath in 1998. I am married to Tina, Stepdad to son Aaron and his young family. I am very active in the local community, I am a committee member of the Iver Heath Residents Association. I have a particular interest in ecological and environmental matters. As Foster Carers we have successfully cared for several children which were either moved onto adoption or placed back with their birth parents. With a particular interest in the emotional and educational welfare of looked-after children I am keen to assist IHJS in fulfilling its ambitions and strategic vision at the heart of our community.
Gabbie Cooney I joined the Board of Governors in October 2016 as I was keen to contribute to the continued success of our local school. I have lived in the area for over 14 years and have two children, a boy and a girl. I work in property and facilities management and am a qualified Project Manager and also hold Health and Safety qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
Seemab Sayyed
I am a parent as well as a staff governor. I joined the governing body in November 2016. Being a parent/staff governor puts me in a unique position to understand the school dynamics. I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as a governor so far and I hope to make significant contribution in times to come.
Sabeen Ahmad I have lived in Iver Heath for over 10 years and work as a Nutritionist. I have two daughters at IHJS and I was elected as a parent Governor in October 2017. I am deeply committed to education and believe it’s an important part of what shapes who we become later in life. We are fortunate that our local school is so amazing. As a governor, I am honoured to be able to help make IHJS an even more wonderful place for our children with the help of the rest of the governors and staff.
Helen Austin My family has lived in Iver Heath for over 60 years and always held strong links with the community. I joined the board of Governors in September 2017. I have 3 daughters who, along with myself, have been past pupils of Iver Heath Junior School. As a parent, I have always taken a strong interest in local education which is why I was interested in being part of the PACE community, which I currently co-chair. I work within the NHS as a dental practice manager in Uxbridge. This brings skills to the board for my role as Safeguarding Governor.
