Pen Portraits of our Governors
I joined the Board of Governors in October 2016 as I was keen to contribute to the continued success of our local school. I have lived in George Green for over 14 years and have two children, a boy and a girl. I work in property and facilities management and am a qualified Project Manager and also hold Health and Safety qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety.
Until we moved to the UK in August 2012, I worked as a teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator at a primary school in the Netherlands. Currently I am teaching at IHIS. I have been a parent governor since January 2014. All three of my children have attended IHJS.
Being a parent governor gives me the opportunity to have an impact on education and positively influence children’s lives. It’s very rewarding being part of such a dedicated group of governors trying to contribute to the school’s ongoing development
I have been on the governing body since 2012. I was originally the school’s parent champion and have since worked as Chair of Governors. I am currently Chair of the Standards Committee. I have two children and work locally as a nurse. My hobbies include tennis and reading. I have lived in Iver Heath most of my life and am committed to improving the education of our local children.
I was born and raised in Slough. I have lived in Iver / Iver Heath for the last 16 years. I have been an accountant for 30 years and have run my own accountancy practice along with my other 2 business partners since 2003. We are a small form and mainly deal with small owner managed businesses. I am married to Hande and have 2 boys who have attended Iver Heath Junior School. I am currently a member of the finance committee.
I have been a co opted governor at IHJS since Sept 2014 and have enjoyed my time to date. I responded to a request for a finance / business professional to join the Finance Committee of the Governing Body, which I now Chair. I am a fully qualified Management Accountant and work as an Assistant Finance Director for a Health Consultancy specialising in improving the health of populations in developing countries, particularly in maternal and new born healthcare. I have lived in the local area all of my life and am pleased to be able to use my financial skills to support our local school. I am keen to ensure that the school provides the very best education and experience for our children as well as providing a happy and safe environment.
I have lived in Iver for over 7 years. I am committed to supporting my local community and the level of Educational for IHJS. I work in the city as a Vice President for the Business Management function for a reinsurance company and Director of a London based sports cosmetics brand. I am keen to share some inspiration, skills and techniques from my exciting employment around building a good governance framework, supporting the IHJS strategy, standards and languages committee. As a parent, I have a genuine interest in the standard of Education the local authority provides for children and value the importance of inspiring the young leaders of tomorrow
I joined the Governing Body as the health and safety governor in Sep 2015. I have been working in education for fifteen years and have lots of relevant experience with health and safety issues. I currently work at East Berkshire College as a lecturer and work mostly with apprenticeships. I am also a mother of identical twin girls who currently attend IHJS.
I have been a teacher for fifteen years. I am currently on the Senior Management Team at an independent girls’ school in Twickenham, where I hold the responsibilities of Head of Sixth Form and Head of Economics. I live in Langley, and I am keen to make my contribution to the local community. I strongly believe that every child is entitled to an excellent education, regardless of their background. I enjoy reading, the outdoors and animals – especially my two parrots.
I am a parent as well as a staff governor. I joined the governing body in November 2016. Being a parent/staff governor puts me in a unique position to understand the school dynamics. I have thoroughly enjoyed my role as a governor so far and I hope to make significant contribution in times to come.
