Meet the Governors

Mrs. D. Parslow                      Parent Governor
Chair of Governors and Standards Committee

I have been on the governing body for the past 4 years. I was originally the school’s parent champion and have since taken on the role as Chair of Governors. I have two children and work locally as a nurse. My hobbies include tennis and reading. I have lived in Iver Heath most of my life and am committed to improving the education of our local children.

Mrs. M. Crone                     Parent Governor
Vice Chair and Development and Visit Co-ordinator Governor

Until we moved to the UK in August 2012, I worked as a teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator at a primary school in the Netherlands. I have volunteered at IHIS and I am currently volunteering at IHJS. In January 2014 I became a parent governor. I sit on two committees and have the role of development governor. My youngest daughter attends the school and I have a daughter and a son, who had several happy years at IHJS, before moving up to secondary school.

Being a parent governor gives me the opportunity to have insight into the education system. It’s very rewarding being part of such a dedicated group of governors trying to contribute to the school’s ongoing development.

Mrs. R. Lawson                    Clerk to the Governors.

Mrs. M. Farmer                   Governor

My name is Maggie Farmer and I have been a teacher for all my working life. I started in a Reception class and worked my way up in different schools to being a Head Teacher of an Infant school. From there I went on to be a Head Teacher of a Pupil Referral unit which is a unit for children in danger of exclusion from school because of behaviour difficulties. I found that really interesting and rewarding, working with schools to support teachers and pupils to change behaviour and ensure pupils were able to make good progress despite their difficulties. When I left there I was a Behaviour Consultant working in secondary schools to help schools implement systems to manage behaviour and support teachers who were having difficulties in managing behaviour. This gave me a different perspective on education which has been valuable when thinking about transition from primary to secondary. I retired in 2011 and am enjoying looking after my granddaughter as well as being a school governor.
